Kohahra smiled as he came upon the old, burned out tree. He took his hat off in a salute of respect. "Hello, old friend." He stroked the charred bark of the tree as if greeting a friend. He said, in a loud, clear voice, "I, Kohahra, Head of the Shamen tribe, have come to consult the spirits of my extinct brethren." With that, Kohahra began the long ascent up the tree.
